Crossing over to BSAC
If you already hold a non-BSAC diving qualification, it is in many cases possible for it to be recognised as being equivalent to a BSAC one.
Once you become a member of BSAC, the qualifications that you already hold can be recognised as a starting point for further training within BSAC by the issue of a Statement of Alternative Training (SALT) certificate. The certificate will also allow you to dive at a level that BSAC considers equivalent to your non-BSAC qualifications.Your crossover to BSAC will include an 'Induction to BSAC' which will introduce you to the BSAC organisation, the BSAC '88 Decompression Tables, and how the branch operates. Further theory study and skills practice may be required to close any gaps in your training that may become apparent.
